This extensive remodel and reconfiguration transformed the house to better respond to the needs of its owners, enhancing both its functionality and architectural character.
Externally, the works included new windows and doors throughout, roof repairs, repointing, improved eaves ventilation and the addition of a Pigmento zinc standing-seam clad dormer. Existing plastic fascias were replaced with timber, while a new single-storey extension was constructed in long-format brickwork, combining stretcher and soldier courses to create a contemporary expression. A large lantern rooflight brings generous natural light into the kitchen and into the heart of the new ground-floor plan.
Internally, the ground floor was reconfigured to improve the space and flow, incorporating a new utility room, WC and plant room. The first-floor layout was carefully refined, while the second floor was redesigned to create a generous master bedroom with dressing room and ensuite. The new dormer increases head height and usable floor area, allowing the upper storey to be fully utilised as a comfortable living space.
