Project 395

Listed Farmhouse and Barn Conversion
This beautiful Grade II Listed farmhouse barn conversion, nestled at the foot of Kinder Scout, achieves a delicate balance of historic building technologies to safeguard the historic structure, with contemporary design to create spaces that support modern living.
Working closely with Peak District National Park Planners the building has been sensitively improved to ensure it continues to contribute to the character of the surrounding valley area. Wood fibre insulation, lime plaster, lime pointing and limecrete floors all enable breathability and vapour permeability, without disrupting the existing external fabric of the building.
Conversion of the agricultural barn to a fantastic double height dining space off a contemporary kitchen, has meant light is able to pour in through the large, glazed doors housed within the existing barn door opening.
