155_remodelling of barn conversion

The barn dates back to the 18th century and was first converted into a dwelling in 1992. Prior to works, the two-storey dwelling comprised of a series of small segregated spaces and a large under-used garage. The proposals involved opening up the ground floor and converting the garage to create a spacious open plan kitchen/dining/living area, with a more formal living room to one end of the barn. The first floor accommodation was also re-configured to suit the young family's needs. Original features of the barn were retained where possible, maintaining the charm of the original dwelling.
