Project 205
Restaurant Hale
The clients have worked within the hospitality industry for many years and aspired to breathe new life into a former Natwest bank premises by transforming it into a new high class Indian restaurant. The detached building comprises three storeys and is situated within the Hale Station Conservation Area at the heart of the town centre. The proposals retained the existing 1930's sandstone stonework bank frontage to maintain the original character of the building. Full-height windows were introduced at ground floor to bring more light into the building and form a connection with the proposed pavement dining areas. The building has also been extended across two storeys to the rear, creating additional seating at ground floor and a commercial kitchen to the first floor. The building was designed in collaboration with Edwin Interior Design and has proved to be a very high quality addition to the South Manchester food scene.
