Situated on a former turkey farm, the replacement bungalow aims to provide the client with a home more suitable for modern living, yet sits harmoniously within the hope valley. The timber framed dwelling is modest in its appearance with traditional influences on its materials and form. As part of the development, spatial improvements to the existing plant nursery, landscape and ancillary farm buildings are also considered within the proposed scheme. The building is insulated and detailed to near passivhaus standards, is heated via a ground source heat pump and also has a heat recovery system installed which will lead to very low running costs and carbon footprint going forwards.
